Admin users can access the Custom Field Editor for any workspace(s) they are on from Settings > Custom Field Editor.
The editor includes custom fields for three items:
- Project fields: this form includes the fields for your projects that you see in your project intake form and project creator.
- Student fields: these are fields for your student accounts. The standard fields all EduSourced workspaces use are first name, last name and email. Use this form to add any additional fields.

Bidding: add questions you want to include when doing bidding with your students to collect their project preferences. The default bidding form only includes prompting students to rank (or score) their preferred projects. With the custom field editor, you can add additional questions that will be included every time you do a round of bidding. Common questions include demographic information, availability windows to meet with their team (so you can match students with like availability) and prompting for any work or academic history that may be relevant for their preferred project. The sky is the limit though and you can ask anything you would like here!
- Data fields (select or checkbox field types) can feed your auto team builder if you want to match teams based on similarity or diversity of the various data fields you have created.
In any of these forms, click the "Add a Custom Field" button at the bottom of your form. You can drag and drop to reorder the form as well or click an existing question to make edits to it.
